Research with your tools

Connect to
Charity Clarity.

Bring source-linked charity research into an assistant or application you use.

Search organizations, read their reported finances, compare records, and create a giving plan with the public research service. No account or API key is required.

Connect an assistant

In a client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP, add this server URL:

https://mcp.charityclarity.net/mcp

Choose no authentication if your client asks. Availability depends on the client and account.

What you can do

  • Search the research catalog by name, cause, or EIN and retrieve source-linked financial records.
  • Compare two or three organizations, including their reporting periods and evidence.
  • Read guidance on evaluating charities and understanding expenses.
  • Calculate a giving allocation and export a brief to keep in your own client.

Choose the right collection

The website directory and the research service have different coverage. The research service contains 122 historical IRS filing entities. Use the website directory for the full website collection. A missing research result does not mean an organization is absent from the website.

Use the API

Applications can use the same research through JSON REST endpoints. Start with the service information ↗ (opens a new tab). For example, send POST /v1/charities/search to https://mcp.charityclarity.net with Content-Type: application/json and this JSON body: {"query":"hunger","limit":3}. Use the IDs returned by the service for further lookups. Send searches and planning inputs in request bodies, not URL query strings.

A plain-text site index is also available for tools that use it.

Read the evidence with the result

Keep the cited source, fiscal period, and retrieval date with each financial figure. Reported spending is not measured impact or a prediction of where a new gift will go. Check current eligibility and donation details with the organization and relevant official sources.

Giving plans are calculations. This service does not move money, create recurring donations, or save a donor profile. Your client holds your brief and applies its own privacy settings.
